Today has been mammoth. Almost the size of my boobs (attempted bad joke). I received the teaser clip for the Pilates DVD and I am SO excited to share it with you. SO excited! It is going to be HUGE! We have to wait a little bit though to iron out some creases before the teaser is released. Which is good for you as I KNOW you will be begging for it to be released as this teaser even makes me excited!

The DVD’s comes out in March. We will be at the Fitness Expo in Sydney in April so if you will be there come along and say hi as I would love to meet you and discuss the products. Andddd we are taking our product to AMERICA this year! I am so excited to share my stretch method with the world. A big thank you to Polestar Australia for teaching me how to become the best Pilates Instructor I can be and an even bigger thank you to my faithful clients for making me the most passionate instructor I can be. Here is a little quick screen shot… A teaser of a teaser… I’m, naughty, I know ha ha.

We had a bit of a situation before. Which has bought up a bit of ‘noise’ that has been flying around in my head lately. Age noise.

How often has a situation come up in your life where someone has used your age, almost to attack you? This really annoys me. I remember when I started my business, I told everyone I was about 27. I was 20. I knew that I would not appear credible at all if they thought I was some 20-year-old just starting Pilates classes out on my own. Even though I had been doing Pilates since I was 15, so with 5 years of practice up my sleeve, a great resume of studios I had worked at. I still kept thinking, ‘Okay they are going to look at me and walk out’. So did I get asked my age? Heaps. Did I lie? Of course. Did it help? Well, to be honest I don’t quite know. I have always had a stable client base. If they leave, they always come back and we are getting to the point where our class spaces are so full the diary looks like everyone has been packed in like sardines. I would always tell myself though that age doesn’t matter, but in a lot of peoples eyes, it does. I think what kept them there was my passion. The passion I have that I CAN change their body if they want. Whatever they want, I will always deliver and give as much as I possibly can to get them where they want to be.

I had the same thoughts with the DVD. The same age noise as with the business but again I went into it with the same passion as when I opened my business. Will people think I am credible? Will they buy my DVD that a 23-year-old produced? Will they even care when they find out my age? And then I just realised it is noise. At the end of the day. If you have to justify yourself to someone because of a stupid number they are not worth knowing.

A lovely and wise Pilates associate, Sarah, said to me you can spot passion a mile away. Always remember this, as often I forget. Passion gets you far. Age does not. This call before made me rather upset as my age got bought up. “You know, she is ONLY young and quite inconsiderate of others, because of her age she really is only in it for the money”. So what did I do? I cried. It hurt me a lot. I am okay now though. But I am acting like an adult in this situation. A classy adult. Class is also something that isn’t age related. You either have it or you don’t. So how am I solving this situation? With a letter. For me, there is something so classy about a letter. I am so thankful for my upbringing in the professional world of advertising and would remember as a little girl, my father would send out letter after letter with a funsize PICNIC bar inside, the name of his company. A letter is so professional but also personalised and always reminds me of those moments as a child – I was stealing the PICNIC’s at the time however and not really worrying about the professionalism the PICNIC had attached to it. I hate loose ends and I hate burnt bridges. Sometimes a phone call just doesn’t cut it and neither does a text or an email. A letter for me, is the one of the most personalised forms of communication that is becoming quickly outdated. So here I am, blogging and writing a letter…

But right now, please remember, in times when you are having a complete high and something stupid brings you down. Remember what got you there, passion. Remember when people bring you down for reasons that are completely irrelevant, they just have no class. You do. So please, hold your head high and remember that you have class on your side and passion in your pocket.

For a random finish to the blog. Another reader said to me the other day the only thing I don’t blog about is sex. So here we go. Some wise words. Not exactly by me but they might as well be as I could see that easily coming out of my mouth.

Okay. So I was a bit pissy last night my blog post took so long to work on and it was actually blogged on the wee hours of this morning. That’s the perfectionist in me but I did promise that I would do a blog on my resolutions and what I plan on doing. Yes, I have bought this up before. But I think its important to actually think about what you want to do over a period of time and then evaluate and think if its something you really want. Such a better approach than pulling some grandeur idea out of your ass.

Anyway, here are my OUTCOMES for 2012. Like I said, I have discussed before but these will be set in concrete. Well blog-crete. I went out to dinner last night with mum at my favourite place, the Depot. Before our mains and while my mum was texting. Actually, that in itself is kind of hilarious seeing my mum use a phone considering how much I know she hates/struggles with technology. I saw a little notepad application on the new iPhone and flicked out a few more resolutions…

1. Dump crap men out of my life
Trust me when I say I have had a lot. If you are ever feeling in the dumps hit me up and I will surely have a story to tell you that will perk you up a little. Like the time a guy I was seeing got my best friend to dump me, who didn’t actually realise she was dumping me at the time. Cya loser from 2011! Though in my times of need, a lot of my girlfriends have shared with me some pretty horrible stories, so remember you are never alone, no matter what sex you are, we all can get treated like shit! Actually though, I think ive done this, the whole negative man cull. The ones that know they have done wrong and truly want to be my friend will come back. If this ever happens to you, please take note of their sincerity, as I can tell you some will not be. Funny enough I actually got an apology from one the other day. It took me a few days to respond. I appreciated this though, a lot. I will always confess when I am in the wrong and I appreciated that he did as well. Maybe one day he will be back in my life, like the many others, but chances are probably not. Ex boyfriends are ex boyfriends for a reason ladies.

2. Get the BEST body I can get whilst staying sane
This will involve a mixture of being healthy both with exercise and eating but as well as that, being healthy mentally. At the moment I am still recovering from my mental nutball situation that was the other week. You can’t expect to look good if every single aspect of your life, such as your mental state is a complete mess. This will affect how you eat and even if you want to exercise. Today I am weighing in at 64 kilos. I know that kilo weight is never anything to go by but for me I think that I will be at a happy medium being around 62 kilos.

3. Don’t stress about work
Sometimes, there are things that are unavoidable and just happen. I take this to heart, ALL the time. I have to just get over it and move on. I have a personal assistant now which will help. As well as that, im training my mum up to become a Pilates Instructor to help teach classes. I think even though I am one of the most organised people I know. I am also all or nothing, no grey area. So I am either Miss Kikki-K of the year or looking for a needle in a haystack kind of disorganised.

4. Sell 20,000 copies of my DVD’s
Originally it was 3,000, then it was 10,000 and then I was like, stuff you all I will make it 20,000. Wanna know why? I get so damn ridiculously annoyed when people look at me and say ‘Oh, and whats your marketing strategy’. With that sort of look on their face you could just slap, you know the one? Some are sincere, most are not. Do you really think I would invest $20,000 into something that I was just going to do for fun and just sell my to clients. Lol, NO! So no, I will not tell you my marketing strategy. I know my strategy, I know it will work. I think it will be far more entertaining to act aloof and then just do it. I’m taking a cue from Nike there. If people ever act like this with you, take it as a compliment. I get it all the time. I remember when I was doing my Pilates course and pulled a 93% out for one of my exams and stunned everyone. I just smiled politely and knew I worked my toosh off doing so. You will ALWAYS exceed their expectations if they think this of you. So how fun is that!

5. Continue being a Juice Plus Wellness Partner and spread the word of good nutrition
Did you read the paper today? Did you see in body+soul that 40% of cancer is caused by stuff YOU do in your life, such as drinking, which is why I don’t drink. It didn’t surprise me at all to see that some of this was caused by NOT getting enough fruit and vegetables in your diet. 6.1% of men and 3.4% was the percentage they produced with this. Why gamble? Seriously.

6. Evaluate my friend base
A lot of people in my life deserve to be there. A lot also, do not. I am a giver, I will give you everything I possibly can if I know it will make you happy. People take advantage of this all the time. A client told me once that I tend to attract a lot of people and make them feel comfortable, I guess this tends to attract a lot of toxic people too. I guess this makes sense as I still cannot believe some of the secrets people tell me. I am also good with a secret too by the way and funny enough, I am a great listener :P I want to look at who is in my life and focus on the ones that count. Those special people.

7. Finish Bethenny Frankel’s book
I DID THIS TODAY! I finished it. I loved it. It was empowering and really recommend it as a read. I hate books though. I really do. I only like books with pictures and only pictures OR autobiographies. I guess in a way this was also a bit of a self-help book. Mum and I still laugh the fact that I received it and started reading it the VERY day that I needed it.

8. Continue to love and develop my passion for photography and beautiful things
An amazing photo just makes me want to melt like ice-cream on a hot summers day. It hits this button deep inside and just takes me to this happy place. Right night, pinterest.com is my happy place, where all of these images are from.

I also wrote this down in my little technological notepad. I have no idea why. But when I have a strong urge to do something I just go with it. The last sentence of my 2012 manifestations said…

‘Be amazing and don’t look back. YOU ARE AMAZING’

So. I did it again. I forgot to blog. I guess I’m consistent if you look at it one way?

But I have an excuse. A great excuse. My DVD’s get filmed in just over a month. I KNOW!!! This is EXTREMELY exciting as I am so excited to share my stretching method with the world that has had all of my clients flexibility improve beyond belief.

With these DVD’s I want to take out all the mystery of how to get flexible and what not to do with stretches if you want to get flexible. I find though the biggest secret is consistency. It is so important that if you decide on wanting to get flexible that you commit to a regular stretching program. That is some advice I will give you for now… the rest will come soon enough!

Speaking of consistency. I believe its important if you want to achieve any body related result that you commit to a regular program to get you your desired results. For the DVD’s I obviously want to have a body that is achievable from Pilates and become an inspiration for people to commit to regular practice. Lately, I have been doing classes at Pilates Anytime which is an online Pilates site that has AMAZING classes from many well known instructors. One thing I love is that they aren’t restricted to just mat classes so for people with a studio like myself, I love that I can hop on and do a class using the reformer.

Today started Day one of my 30 day challenge to commit to doing one hour of Pilates practice daily. I will be using this website to support me and am so excited at the amazing range of classes the site has to offer.

I can definitely recommend those with a Pilates background to join up as it is extremely reasonable in price and comes with  15 day free trial. I can’t stress enough though the importance of having a proper understanding of the Pilates method before doing any of these classes though. Its imperative that you have done Pilates before or are doing regular classes and are using these to compliment them. You get SO much more out of Pilates if you know what you are doing. Might sound silly but its true, plus the risk of injury is considerably less when you are familiar with the exercise.

Follow the links below and sign up for your 15 day trial NOW if this sounds like it would interest you. You don’t have to lay any money out initially which I like too! Try before you buy!
